I was playing this first person zombie shooter game when I noticed the owner of the server say in the chat “this bitch needs to get back to the kitchen.” Somewhat in shock, I didn’t manage to take a screenshot before the message faded away, but I figured I could just ignore that one remark and get back to killing all the zombies I could. After all, this wasn’t the first encounter I’ve had with angry boys who think it’s hilarious and cool to make sandwich jokes at women.
Except then he sent this message.
Followed by an attempt (kind of?) to defend me
Which was of course followed by this very important representation of what it means to be a man in today’s society
and
(Oh, how perfect)
Still in shock that this was actually happening, I couldn’t think of anything to say other than “Wow, really?” but I figured any attempt at insulting this guy was lost, so I just left the game. Moments after I left, Generic_White_Guy requests my friendship on Steam. Again I had to ask, “Wow, really?”
If anyone wondered why women play online games under male aliases or as male characters, it’s because none of this would have ever happened if my name was “Dave” instead of “Megs”.

slkdhfjlkjsdf i’m sorry for such a long absence lovelies, I moved house last week and have finally finished setting up my room! I tried to get online earlier but I couldn’t get my computer to connect to the wifi. I will do my best to start finiding more content for the que!
Not dead, just started a new job which has upset my sleeping pattern a bit so I don’t have much energy left for much of anything.
Also it was my birthday on Tuesday so the last week has been a bit hectic with family gatherings and such.
